چکیده

ZnO buffer layer Silicon substrates with (100) orientation were coated with a ZnO buffer layer in order to initiate ZnO nanowire growth and to ensure c-axis alignment. No attempt was made to remove the substrate native oxide layer in any case. Firstly a ZnO seed layer is deposited by drop coating a 5 mM solution of zinc acetate in absolute ethanol [1]. 3.5 μl of this solution is applied per cm of substrate area. After 20 seconds the substrate is rinsed with absolute ethanol and dried with a nitrogen stream. This process is repeated 5 times, after which the substrate is annealed at 350°C for 30 minutes to produce a thin ZnO seed layer. This layer is then used to initiate CBD growth of a thicker ZnO layer. The seed layers are submerged in a 25 mM zinc acetate solution in DI-H2O at 60 70°C for 3 hours. In order to reduce incorporation of precipitates onto the substrates after 90 minutes, they are removed from the solution and rinsed with DI-H2O and then submerged in a fresh zinc acetate solution for a further 90 minutes. After deposition the substrates are cleaned by sonication in fresh DI-H2O and dried with a nitrogen stream [2].

Morphology-dependent field emission properties and wetting behavior of ZnO nanowire arrays

The fabrication of three kinds of ZnO nanowire arrays with different structural parameters over Au-coated silicon (100) by facile thermal evaporation of ZnS precursor is reported, and the growth mechanism are proposed based on structural analysis. Field emission (FE) properties and wetting behavior were revealed to be strongly morphology dependent. The nanowire arrays in small diameter and high...

Effect of Silicon Nanowire on Crystalline Silicon Solar Cell Characteristics

Nanowires (NWs) are recently used in several sensor or actuator devices to improve their ordered characteristics. Silicon nanowire (Si NW) is one of the most attractive one-dimensional nanostructures semiconductors because of its unique electrical and optical properties. In this paper, silicon nanowire (Si NW), is synthesized and characterized for application in photovoltaic device. Si NWs are ...

Synthesis, characterization and electrical properties of hybrid Zn2GeO4–ZnO beaded nanowire arrays

We report the syntheses of vertically aligned, beaded zinc germinate (Zn2GeO4)/zinc oxide (ZnO) hybrid nanowire arrays via a catalyst-free approach. Vertically aligned ZnO nanowire is used as a lattice matching reactive template for the growth of Zn2GeO4/ZnO nanowire. The morphology and structure of the as-prepared samples were characterized using X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron (...

Nano-structural Characterization of Post-annealed ZnO Thin Films by X-ray Diffraction and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy

ZnO thin films were deposited on Si(400) substrates by e-beam evaporation technique, and then post-annealed at different annealing temperatures (200-800°C). Dependence of the crystallographic structure, nano-strain, chemical composition and surface physical Morphology of these layers on annealing temperature were studied. The crystallographic structure of films was studied using X-Ray Diffracti...

Reshaping the Tips of ZnO Nanowires by Pulsed Laser Irradiation

Vertically aligned ZnO nanowires have been synthesized by a hydrothermal method. After being irradiated by a short laser pulse, the tips of the as-synthesized ZnO nanowires can be tailored into a spherical shape. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that the spherical tip is a single-crystalline piece connected to the body of the ZnO nanowire, and that the center of the sphere is hollow. T...
